Why I Donate to Children's Miracle Network on Every Home Sale

When you sell or buy a home with me, part of my commission goes to a cause close to home: Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. I've been a Florida licensed REALTOR® since 2003, and giving back to the community I work in has always been part of how I do business.

Through RE/MAX's Miracle Home Program, agents across the country contribute a portion of every closing to their local Children's Miracle Network hospital. For me and my clients here in Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Manors, and Oakland Park, that means the money stays close to where we live. It goes directly to Nicklaus Children's Hospital services at Broward Health Medical Center, so a family dealing with a sick child doesn't have to drive to Miami or leave the county for the care their kid needs.

What Is the RE/MAX Miracle Home Program?

The Miracle Home Program is a long running partnership between RE/MAX and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Participating agents donate on every transaction, whether it's a $250,000 condo in Wilton Manors or a waterfront estate in Fort Lauderdale. Clients often receive a card letting them know a donation was made in their honor as part of the closing.

The idea is simple. Real estate agents close deals every day, and a small piece of each one can add up to real money for kids' hospitals, without costing clients anything extra.

How the Money Stays Local

One of the reasons I've stuck with this program for so long is that the donations don't disappear into a national fund. They go to the Children's Miracle Network member hospital serving our own community.

Here in Broward County, that's Nicklaus Children's Hospital, which now runs pediatric inpatient care, infusion services, and the pediatric ER at Broward Health Medical Center. That partnership means kids in Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Manors, and Oakland Park can get specialized pediatric care close to their own families instead of being sent out of the county. Before this affiliation, hundreds of Broward County children had to leave the area every year just to see a pediatric specialist.
